Motorcycle Safety: Safety is a chief concern for the Red Knights Tennessee Chapter 2 Club. We encourage all people who ride motorcycles to attend a safety course. We are working on a closed class for Red Knights only. For information please contact the RKTN2 president.
We had our first RED KNIGHT Advanced Rider Safety Class on July 26. On one of our rides I saw something that sent chills down my back. On a curvy country road, on a large group ride, a rider (not one of the Red Knights) was passing one of our members around a blind turn. Our member did not see him coming and was avoiding an object in the road. We almost had our first accident. We are riding as a group, we need to remember: • Ride staggered, not side by side. • Give our riders a safety curtain around each bike for emergency maneuvers • Watch your following distance; give yourself room to stop your bike. • Look for hazards in the road and let those behind you know about them. • If we are changing lanes, the last bike needs to change and let the rest in. • Use our hand signals and turn signals • Look out for each other, we can keep our brothers and sister from harm's way by watching our surroundings. If there are any safety tips for our riders send them to
